The eLearning Repository 2.0 is now available. It’s still in beta mode while we continue to roll out some new functionality and fix the odd bug here and there but we would like to invite you to register for an account and start to discover and add new learning resources. There’s some information to help get you started on the support page.
The eLearning Repository, funded by a consortium of SHA’s, is an extensible ‘search and discover platform’ to support the discovery and sharing of eLearning objects and learning resources held both within the Repository and at external locations. This includes:
- A discovery platform specifically for learning materials
- A centralised repository of NHS eLearning assets and knowledge
- A channel for the eLearning, mobile learning and simulation communities to publicise and share their works
- An information product which allows the NHS community to shape and to contribute
- A catalogue of local content (CoLC)
National Learning Management System
You can now add content to the e-Learning Repository to then be played through the National Learning Management System (NLMS). This means, for shared content, there is no need for local hosting. Only resources that meet the NLMS Content Standard (SCORM 1.2) can be hosted for use with NLMS.
To add content, login and Add Content. Complete the fields, with the licence set to ‘Creative Commons (E&W) Attribution, Non-commercial, ShareAlike’ and available to ‘NHS staff’ as shown below.

Upload the SCORM 1.2 zip file in the SCORM link section at the foot of the web page as shown below.
Once the content record has been saved the link is generated and can be accessed by viewing the record. The View Resource link is the one that needs to be entered into OLM as shown below.
