Leadership

If you are looking for leadership development opportunities specifically associated with Clinical Commissioning click here.

The reforms for the NHS outlined in the White Paper, Equity and Excellence: liberating the NHS, July 2010 have been described as the most fundamental change to the way in which the NHS is run in 30 years.  The scale of the challenges for NHS leaders to push these reforms forward against a backdrop of financial constraints is unprecedented.

The planned changes to the NHS architecture require leadership development support for leaders in new roles with new responsibilities for both provider and commissioner organisations.  There will, therefore, be an increased focus of leadership development for clinicians and specifically the emerging GP leaders of the new commissioning consortia.

During this period of transition we will also support senior leaders to define and pursue new career paths through the provision of a comprehensive portfolio of career management support.

The Leadership Team has made significant progress in building an infrastructure of support to underpin future leadership development for current and emerging future leaders including the launch of on-line learning networks and coaching support from both external and internal qualified coaches.

The pace of change will need effective, courageous and confident leadership and the Leadership Team will support newly identified areas of leadership development to help to meet the challenges ahead.
