Health Education South West

Non-Medical Education

Non-Medical Education is part of the remit of Health Education South West, whose main office is based in South West House, Taunton. However, there are also two satellite units in Plymouth and Bristol located with the South West Peninsual Deanery and the Severn Deanery.

Health Education South West commissions non-medical education, which includes nursing, midwifery and the majority of allied health professionals, for the South West region at pre-registration and post-registration levels.  This involves working with NHS organisations (Service Providers) and Higher Education Institutes (Education Providers) to ensure the workforce of the present and future are appropriately educated to meet the needs of Service in delivering patient care.

We have established excellent working relationships with all NHS organisations and Higher Education Institutes within the South West.  The area covered can be seen in the map below.

Full descriptions of funding streams are available in the Multi-professional Education and Training Funding Streams section of this website.  Please also refer to the Frequently Asked Questions section if you have any queries.  If your question is not answered, please contact a member of the Non-Medical Education team as directed in the relevant section of this website.
