Benefits of apprenticeships
Apprenticeships can support the health sector by offering a route for employers to develop new talent. Apprenticeships ensure that your workforce has the practical skills and qualifications your organisation needs now and in the future.
Key benefits that Apprenticeships bring to health sector organisations include:
- improved productivity
- improved competitiveness
- committed and competent work-force.

An Apprenticeship Framework should be made up of:
- National Vocational Qualification;
- Technical Certificate;
- Key skills;
- Employer rights and responsibilities.
Apprentices can be implemented in one of three ways:
- Existing staff already in post undergoing a National Vocational Qualification who may require or like to progress on to an Apprenticeship;
- New recruits to a job role within the NHS who work towards the Apprenticeship Framework and are paid in accordance with Annex U.
